    Final Assessment Part 2

    Open notes exam based on programming theory and non-programming components of the curriculum.

    A Google document will be shared with you. Make your own copy, answer questions, create PDF, submit to turnitin.com

    Remember, there are a couple of questions on the exam that you have already been given. You will just copy/paste your prepared answer into the exam document.

    Final Assessment:
    -one-on-one assessment of Part 1 - during exam schedule (at a mutually convenient time) OR if you have all your term work submitted the assessment can take place during class
    -Part 2 - Thursday, June 23 - 9 am - Room 242

    Remainder of the class periods are for completion of term work, exam preparation, and one-on-one assessment of Part 1 (if you qualify).

    Create a PDF document of the source code for your completed project and attach it to your "turn in" in edmodo.

      Typo - in muteVolume() it should say "set volume to the mutedVolume" (currently it says muteVolume as the variable which is wrong!)

      I put a copy of the final assessment into the shared Google Doc Collection - it has all the corrections (including bass not base!).

    Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability

    Part 1 - Negative effects of computer use on the environment

    Together we will watch the Frontline video.

    With reference to the video, the additional links, and your own research, create a minimum one page Google document that describes, in your own words, the negative effects of computer use on the environment. You may include graphics for additional impact (your report will be longer than one page if you use graphics). Include hyperlinks in your document to all sources (graphics, statistics, etc.).

    Part 2 - Solutions
    The websites referenced...

Ontario has recently started to deal with the issue of e-waste (see the 2 links added to this post). Add to section to your document that outlines solutions to the negative effects of computers on the environment. As before, you may include graphics and you are to include hyperlinks to sources.

    Privacy - "My cell phone is tracking me!"

    This project can take whatever form(s) you wish (written, website, popplet, audio, video, etc.).
    You must cover the following:
    a) overview of the issue: the facts related to cell phone tracking
    b) how this issue relates to personal privacy
    c) your personal reaction - is it a good thing? bad thing? somewhere in the middle?
