As all librarians like to do, Mrs. Hushen is tracking down those of you who have library fines (because of the day I forgot to have you renew your BookCan library books). Perhaps the easiest way to handle this is if for you to pay the fine, let me know what your fine was, and I will give you your money back.

    PhotoCan Project - Challenge #9 - Forestry

This week's challenge is to find a photo related to the forest industry. It can be from any reputable source. The photo can represent any aspect of the forestry industry in Canada such as tree harvesting, forest harvesting machinery (hopefully in action), saw mill, pulp and paper facility, lumber products, forest replanting, etc.

    Antipodes Map

"In geography, the antipodes of any place on Earth is its antipodal point; that is, the region on the Earth's surface which is diametrically opposite to it. Two points which are antipodal to one another are connected by a straight line through the centre of the Earth. Full article at Wikipedia."

Mrs. Hushen is unwilling to provide the fine information to me. As a result, if you can provide me with the fine information, I will take the money to her to pay your fine. If you have money and want to pay, you can, I'll give you the money back. Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Somebody remind me when the books need to be renewed so this doesn't happen again!

    PhotoCan Project - Challenge #8 - Agriculture

This week's challenge is going to make you work! You are to take a picture of agriculture in Southern Ontario. If you don't have access to a device that can take a photo, send a "Note" (in Edmodo) to me and we'll make suitable arrangements.

Your photo needs to be on the Interent so you can pin it in ArcGIS. An option you can use is to upload your photo to your Picasa Web Album (associated with your ed.amdsb.ca Google account). If you use Picasa Web Album, you can right click on the image to "copy image link".

When you pin the location, make sure the scale is appropriate so you can precisely pin the exact location of the photo, and measure the distance from DCVI.
