    Practice Spreadsheets - Artie's Auto Shop and Weekly Gross Earnings

    New spreadsheet - add to next page in Practice Spreadsheets - Record of Marks

    Checkpoint - you will have 3 spreadsheets, properly formatted, with proper formulas, in the Practice Spreadsheets document (Artie's, Earnings, Marks)

    NHL Statistics
    Use the link below to access current NHL statistics.
    Create a new spreadsheet (in Google Docs) - rename it "NHL Statistics"
    Copy / paste interesting statistics from the NHL page onto different pages (spreadsheets) in your NHL Statistics spreadsheet document.
    Format each page - including an appropriate name in the tab at the bottom of the screen - add appropriate formulas.

    Spreadsheets
    What is a spreadsheet and what are they used for?
    Basic spreadsheet skills - layout, data entry, formulas, format

    Practice spreadsheets:
    Create a new spreadsheet. Name the spreadsheet document "Practice Spreadsheets". Use formulas, as needed. Format all spreadsheets appropriately.

    On the blank spreadsheet create a spreadsheet for Artie's Auto Shop and be able to answer the questions based on information from the spreadsheet.

    Click the + in the bottom left of the spreadsheet screen to add a second blank spreadsheet to the spreadsheet document. Use the blank spreadsheet to create a spreadsheet for Gross Weekly Earnings - use the appropriate formulas:
    Hourly Pay x Regular Hours Worked = Regular Pay
    Hourly Pay x Overtime Rate = Hourly Overtime Pay
    Hourly Overtime Pay x Hours of Overtime = Overtime Pay
    Regular Pay + Overtime Pay = Gross Weekly Earnings

    Please return the paper copies of the spreadsheets to the teacher at the end of the period.

    I added a new website that can be used to find Creative Commons photos to the "Graphics" folder (and linked below). The feature I really like about this tool is it gives you a piece of code that you can copy/paste and add to a webpage to provide the proper photo credit.

    TASK
    Convert (modify) the Google Presentation created for the previous task (Dec 14) into a slide show that auto plays and would be viewed without an oral presentation. You will likely need to add content to the slide show since there is no oral presentation.
